Students had the exciting opportunity to work with Irish film director, Éanna de Buis today. They created a set, designed costumes and organised props in English class and shot a short film under his direction today in conjunction with their media studies. It was an absolutely brilliant day as well as an interesting insight into the film industry. Keep an eye out for the finished product on the website soon!
The 27th January marked 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp at the end of World War 2. In English class Willow have been learning about the Holocaust and studying poetry relating to it. They also learned about the story of Anne Frank who died in the Holocaust. To mark Holocaust Memorial Day we went to visit Ireland’s only Holocaust memorial in the Garden of Europe, only a short walk from the school.

Watch this space as we are planning for more in the coming months.
Students had the opportunity to get up close and personal with lots of different creatures in relation to their JCSP programme here in the school! The Animal Road Show brought along a variety of creepy crawlies, slithering snakes and furry friends for students to hold! It was a very interesting and educational experience as well as a fantastic opportunity to hold lots of different species of animals!
Students enjoyed a trip to the Limerick ice-skating rink to promote an active lifestyle and highlight that there are a variety of sporting activities in the local area available to our students to enjoy.
